Welcome To Caboose
Caboose is a colourful, vibrant cafe set in the heart of Lower Solva, Pembrokeshire, concentrating on
Homemade Gluten Free products.
Since opening in 2005 I have put together a collection of recipes, many unique to Caboose, for a wide range of cakes, sweet and savoury pastries, all Gluten Free.
A basic range of cakes and pastries are sold as individual portions - Raspberry Vanilla Sponge, Lemon Drizzle Cake, Jamaican Spice Rum Cake and Banana Loaf are usually available - both in the cafe and at food festivals. (See festival dates on events page.)
Also look out for Chocolate Rum Fudge Cake, Sticky Date & Toffee Sponge, Amaretto Cake or Pinacolada Cake. I will make whole cakes to order. If you find us at a food festival then also expect to find a selection of pastries alongside the cakes - sweet things like Chocolate & Pecan Tart, Almond & Raspberry Tart or Tropical Fruit & Nut Slice.
Savoury pastries often include Goats Cheese & Spring Onion Tart, Preseli Cheese & Rhubarb Tartlets, Cheese & Leek Quiche or Pesto & Mozzarella Risotto Cake.
The cafe is open from 10:30 - 4:30 daily (Outside catering and food festivals permitting!) for coffees, teas and cakes. We are sometimes open on Saturday evenings (and others occasionally!) for casual, informal dinners. These have an emphasis toward a different international cuisine, ranging through Caribbean, French, Middle Eastern, Creole to Mexican, and all gluten free. Caboose is not a licensed premises, but you are more than welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages. We make no charge for corkage
but please ensure that the alcohol you bring onto the premises is in a sealed unopened container.
Caboose can also be booked for private functions of up to 35 people. We are more than happy to discuss menu options to suit all budgets.
We also have a selection of locally made craft items, cards and books for sale.
After dining you can walk in either direction along the beautiful Pembrokeshire National Coast Path, take a walk along the harbour, or stroll inland, through Prendergast and explore Middle Mill
